The Arts in Colorado: Visual Arts
The importance of visual arts in Colorado can be seen in the new Hamilton wing of the Denver Art Museum, which opened in October 2006. This $100 million facility brings the total size of the museum complex to 356,000 square feet.
But, while our world-class facility is inspiring, there is much more to discover in the state. Colorado’s art community exists primarily outside the museum- in dozens of arts organizations, in hundreds of galleries, and in the thousands of painters, sculptors, photographers, and other visual artists that live here. There are also numerous summer arts festivals in the area, including the Cherry Creek Arts Festival held each year on the July 4th weekend and considered one of the finest arts festivals in the country.
Whether you’re an arts fan, a budding artist, a professional, or an organization, you can find resources to help you on these pages. Let us know of there is anything we need to add- this site, and this organization, exists to serve you!
